Language 6.

There were many good things about the authors writing. One of the things that I enjoyed was that each chapter was from a different perspective. Even some characters who were just bystanders of the main characters had chapters in their view. For instance, the cop had a chapter during the scene where the bus fell over. "He reaches forbid tranq pistol, but it's not there. Instead he feels it's muzzle against his left thigh, and he sees triumph in the Unwind's dark, vicious eyes"(40). This was the part where Connor and Risa had tricked the cop into thinking Risa was hurt. I think I might use a similar style when writing fictional texts by using different chapters or paragraphs for specific characters.

Connections #11

A connection I can make to the real world is organ donating. in the book, kids are "unwound" and every part of their body is used according to the doctors. "We send the real stuff straight to the blood bank, not a bit gets wasted. You can bet, you'll be saving lives!(289)" They say that you're still alive even though you're not all together. in real life, you lose your parts as well, but they aren't attached to you any longer in a social standpoint.

Most important scene

Opinion #8

I think the most important scene is when Lev decided to run out of the stalls and tells the office lady that hes been captured. I think its the most important scene because it causes Lev to pull the fire alarm and Connor and Lisa to run and find the safe house. If Lev wouldn't have told on them, they would have continued to sit in the stall and then leave when it ended. "Lev knows what he has to do. Its something wrong. Its something bad. But suddenly he doesn't care"(81). Lev knew that what he had done to Connor and Risa was bad, so he tried to make up for it by making sure they didn't get caught by pulling the fire alarm.

Story elements 1

The character I like the most is Connor. I like Connor the most because I feel that he is the glue that holds the group of Unwinds together. If it Weren't for Connor, Lev would've been shot, despite Lev wanting to be tithed anyway. Risa says, "If it wasn't for Connor running that highway, I'd probably be unwound by now too" (43). Connor is the reason that they are all not being unwound. If Connor was not present in the book, the other characters would have just been unwound like all the other people in line for unwinding.
